Today’s Hayom Yom talks about order and schedules. We learn that the Baal Shem Tov, the Maggid and the Alter Rebbe were all very systematic and loved order.
We can learn a lot from such great men. Being organised is an admirable trait, and, let’s face it, most of us aren’t as organised as we would like to be. But when you are organised, as these Chassidic masters were, you find yourself with a lot of time on your hands. Using this spare time you can learn, teach and perform mitzvot. Isn’t that a better way to spend your day than to procrastinate?
I’ve always considered myself to value being organised, but after reading the Hayom Yom, I’ve decided to incorporate more order into my life. If others do the same, we can begin to advance our efforts to serve G-d and spread the word of the Torah.
